Interac Autodeposit: switch it on before your first payout

Autodeposit lets incoming Interac e-Transfers land in your account without a security question. For casino players it is not a nicety: Skrill and Neteller send Interac e-Transfer withdrawals only to an Autodeposit email. Ten minutes in your banking app before the first payout saves a failed one.

Interac Autodeposit is the receiving side of Interac e-Transfer. With it switched on, money sent to your registered email or phone is deposited automatically into the account you choose. Without it, each transfer waits for you to accept it and answer a security question. Interac recommends Autodeposit so that no password has to be shared.

For casino players, Autodeposit decides whether a payout routed through an e-wallet can reach your bank at all. We read the wallets' and banks' pages on 9 October 2026.

Setting it up

  1. Open your banking app or online banking and find the Interac e-Transfer settings.
  2. Choose Autodeposit and register the email address (or phone, where your bank allows it) you will use with the wallet or casino.
  3. Pick the account the money should go into.
  4. Confirm the verification link Interac or your bank sends you.

All major banks we read support Autodeposit: RBC, TD, Scotiabank, CIBC, National Bank, Desjardins, Tangerine, Simplii and ATB.

Use the same email in the e-wallet's withdrawal form. A mismatch, or an email registered for Autodeposit at a different bank, is the most common reason a wallet's e-Transfer payout fails.

Receiving limits

Banks cap what you can receive as well as what you can send. Tangerine lists 10,000 a day, 70,000 a week and 300,000 a month; Desjardins accepts single incoming transfers up to 25,000. A large casino win paid through a wallet may therefore arrive in several transfers. See e-Transfer limits by bank.

Autodeposit and the casino deposit

Autodeposit does not affect deposits. When a casino cashier sends you a request, you approve it in your app as usual. The two flows together, request in and Autodeposit out, are the cleanest Interac setup for a casino player.

Questions and answers

What is Interac Autodeposit?

A setting at your bank that deposits incoming Interac e-Transfers sent to your registered email or phone straight into a chosen account, without a security question or password.

Do I need Autodeposit for casino withdrawals?

For e-wallet payouts to your bank, often yes. Skrill's Interac e-Transfer withdrawals, launched for Canadians on 30 December 2025, require an Autodeposit email; Neteller's support says its Interac e-Transfer withdrawals go to an Autodeposit email only.

Is there a limit on how much I can receive?

Banks set receiving limits too. Tangerine lists 10,000 a day, 70,000 a week and 300,000 a month received; Desjardins accepts single incoming transfers up to 25,000.
