Interac Online was a payment method launched in 2007 that let you pay a website by signing in to your online banking inside the merchant's checkout. It has been retired. Credit union notices from 2024 announce the decommissioning, Kindred Credit Union on 28 May and The Police Credit Union, for all credit unions, on 31 May, and both say Interac e-Transfer continues.
If you see "Interac Online" in a casino's list of methods today, read it as Interac e-Transfer, and expect the e-Transfer flow.

Two products, two flows

| Interac Online (retired) | Interac e-Transfer | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | bank login inside the merchant's payment window | send or approve from your own banking app |
| Identifier | your bank login | your email address or mobile number |
| Direction | payments to merchants | both ways, where the merchant supports it |
| Status | decommissioned at credit unions, May 2024 | active; 250+ participating institutions |
Interac e-Transfer also has two features that matter at casinos: Request Money, where the casino sends a request you approve in your app, and Autodeposit, which lets incoming payouts land in your account without a security question.

Why the retirement matters
Interac Online was a checkout for paying merchants. Its retirement leaves e-Transfer as the main Interac product, and e-Transfer can carry money back as well. For players that is a good change: the method you deposit with can, where the casino supports it, be the method you are paid with, which also avoids the extra proof of payment that the Terdersoft casinos ask for when methods differ.
Other retired bank brands
Interac Online is one of three bank-payment brands that Canadian casino players used and can no longer rely on. Instadebit's site gives 27 February 2026 as its last deposit day (Instadebit), and iDebit's Canadian site shows no service (iDebit).
The full e-Transfer guide is on Interac e-Transfer casinos; see the Interac casino sites we rank for Canadian players.
Questions and answers
- Does Interac Online still exist?
Not at credit unions: Kindred Credit Union decommissioned it on 28 May 2024, and The Police Credit Union said Interac was decommissioning it with all credit unions on 31 May 2024. Both notices say Interac e-Transfer is not affected. Interac's own site mentions only the 2007 launch.
- What is the difference between Interac Online and Interac e-Transfer?
Interac Online was a bank login inside the merchant's payment window. Interac e-Transfer is a transfer you send or approve from your own banking app, by email or phone number, and it works in both directions where the merchant supports it.
- Which casinos use Interac e-Transfer?
The Terdersoft casinos (Ringospin, SpinGranny, AFKspin, Spinwinera) ask for your Interac-linked email or phone in their Canadian cashier; Hellspin lists Interac among withdrawal methods; iWild has Interac labels in its payment interface.
