Apple Pay casino: one tap in, a plan for out

Apple Pay at a casino is a card payment with Face ID in front of it. It is quick and keeps your card number off the casino site. On the casinos we read, it is a deposit method; the money comes back another way.

An Apple Pay casino in Canada uses your iPhone's wallet to pay with a Visa or Mastercard you have already added. The casino gets a token, not your card number, and you confirm with Face ID or Touch ID. It is the quickest card deposit there is. It is not a payout method on any cashier we read.

Card deposits that fail

Some card issuers refuse gambling transactions, and Apple Pay does not get around that, because the payment is still a card payment. If a deposit is declined:

  • Try another card, if your bank allows gambling payments on it.
  • Use Interac e-Transfer from your bank instead. See Interac deposits.
  • Use an e-wallet: Jeton or MiFinity.

Do not use a card in someone else's name; casinos hold or return such deposits.

Getting paid after an Apple Pay deposit

Many casinos pay back to the deposit method first. For a card deposit through Apple Pay, that can mean a refund to the card up to the deposited amount, with the rest paid to another method. iWild labels card payouts in its cashier; Hellspin's help pages give card payouts up to seven business days. Faster routes after approval are e-wallets and crypto.

Buying crypto with Apple Pay

Vave's accounts are crypto-only. Its FAQ names cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay among the options to buy crypto through third-party sellers. That purchase is a separate transaction with the seller's rate and fee, and the deposit is then in crypto. See crypto casinos.

Can I withdraw to Apple Pay?

None of the casinos we read lists Apple Pay for withdrawals. Payouts go to the card itself, an e-wallet, Interac where supported, or crypto.
