A legit online casino is one that tells you who it is, holds a licence you can confirm, writes down how and when it pays, and then does. None of that requires inside knowledge. It requires reading the footer, opening a register and testing a small withdrawal before trusting a casino with a large balance.
We ran the first five checks on every casino on our list on 9 October 2026; the sixth is yours.

The score counts what each casino publishes about licence, ID checks and limits, not how much we like the lobby.
The six checks

- Named operator. A company name and registration number in the footer or terms.
- Licence in the register. The number and company found in the regulator's own register, valid, ideally with the domain listed. See how to check a licence.
- Payout rules in writing. Daily, weekly or monthly caps and a processing time, with clause numbers.
- Verification rule. When documents are requested and how long the check takes.
- Readable terms. Terms you can open before you sign up.
- A first small withdrawal. Deposit modestly, withdraw a small win, and see whether the payout matches the terms.

| SpinGranny, Spinwinera | Terdersoft B.V. in footer | Anjouan lists other companies | limits exist, amounts not printed | before withdrawal | no |
No casino on our list passes every check. iWild and Vave come closest. Hellspin is the interesting split: excellent written payout rules, no named operator.
Start with a small Interac deposit and ask for a small withdrawal early.
Warning signs worth taking seriously
- Marketing that contradicts the terms. iWild's marketing says it does not require KYC even for large wins; its terms say no cashout before full verification (7.10). The terms apply; the marketing should have said so.
- Several versions of one offer. The Terdersoft casinos print two or three different welcome headlines for the same bonus.
- Register entries under other companies or past their expiry. SpinGranny and Spinwinera.
- Payout terms you cannot open. Ask support for the withdrawal limit in writing before depositing.
None of these proves a casino will not pay. Each is a reason to keep the first deposit small.
The sixth check is yours
Deposit a modest amount by Interac, play a little, and request a small withdrawal by the method you deposited with. Note the time it takes against what the terms say. A casino that pays a small withdrawal promptly and as documented has passed the only test that really matters; one that does not has told you what you needed to know cheaply.
Our scoring method is on how we rate; every cashier we read is in our online casino Interac comparison.
Questions and answers
- How do I know if an online casino is legit in Canada?
Check six things: a named operating company, a licence you can find in the regulator's register under that company, withdrawal caps and processing times in the terms, a clear verification rule, terms you can actually open, and a small first withdrawal that arrives as promised.
- Which casinos on your list pass the most checks?
iWild Casino and Vave: both name their operator, both have licences we found on the Curaçao register, and both print payout caps and processing times with clause numbers. VegasNova and Slotsgem pass the licence check but their payout terms were not readable to us.
- Is a casino without a named operator a scam?
Not necessarily, but it removes your main recourse. Hellspin, for example, prints clear payout rules but names no operating company or licence, so there is no one to complain to beyond the casino itself.
