Checking a casino licence is three steps: find what the casino claims, find the register entry, compare the two. Most offshore casinos serving Canadian players hold licences from Curaçao or Anjouan, and both now run public registers that anyone can search or open by certificate link.
We ran the check on every casino on our list on 9 October 2026.

On this page
Step 1: find the claim
Scroll to the footer and open the terms. You are looking for three things:
- the company name (for example Latcas B.V. or Goodwin N.V.);
- the licence number (OGL/… for the current Curaçao system, ALSI-… for Anjouan, or an older "sublicence under master licence 5536/JAZ" formula);
- the regulator and, ideally, a link to its validation page.
If the footer names no company and no licence, there is nothing to check. Hellspin is an example: its terms and footer name no legal entity and no licence number, so we could not verify it.
Step 2: find the register entry

- Curaçao (CGA): licences issued under the current system have certificate pages on cert.cga.cw, usually linked from the seal in the casino footer. The register has no name search, so the link from the casino, or the certificate ID, is the way in.
- Anjouan: the register lists licence number, company, domain, status, issue date and expiry date, and can be searched.
Open the certificate from the casino's own seal, then check that the URL really is the regulator's domain and not a lookalike.
Step 3: compare

| Casino | Footer says | Register shows | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vave, Slotsgem | Latcas B.V., OGL/2024/1676/0905 | active since 19 May 2025, vavegame.com and slotsgem.com listed | match |
| iWild Casino | Goodwin N.V., OGL/2024/758/0228 | active since 24 January 2025 | match |
| VegasNova | Veganova Ltd, ALSI-202502018-FI1 | valid to 20 February 2027; registered domain vegasnova.com | match (the casino redirects to vegasnovaglobal.com, which is not listed) |
| SpinGranny | Terdersoft B.V., sublicence 5536/JAZ | spingranny.com under Ceshiroza SRL, expiry 14 August 2026 | mismatch |
| Spinwinera | Terdersoft B.V., sublicence 5536/JAZ | spinwinera.com under Eventa Digital Limitada, expiry 4 July 2026 | mismatch |
| Hellspin | no licence named | nothing to look up | not verifiable |
Three things to compare: the company must be the same; the status must be active or valid with an expiry date in the future; the domain you are playing on should be listed.
Open the casino and play with a balance you funded by Interac.
What a match does and does not tell you
A match tells you the casino is who it says it is and holds the licence it claims. That gives you a named company to complain to and a regulator to write to. It does not tell you how fast the casino pays, how it treats bonus disputes or whether its terms are fair; those are in the terms, and our reviews read them.
A mismatch is not proof of wrongdoing either. Licences move between companies, registers lag, and older sublicences under master licences are being replaced by direct ones. But when the paperwork disagrees, we score the casino lower and tell you why.
The check, in one line
Footer company and number, regulator's own register, same company, valid date, your domain listed. Five minutes, once per casino.
Our scoring method is on how we rate; the full list of casinos with their licences is on all casinos, and the cashier comparison on our Interac casino Canada page.
Questions and answers
- How do I know if an online casino is licensed?
Find the licence number and company name in the footer or terms, then look them up in the regulator's own register. The register entry should show the same company, an active or valid status and the casino's domain.
- What does it mean if the register shows a different company?
The paperwork does not match. We found this for SpinGranny and Spinwinera: their footers name Terdersoft B.V., while the Anjouan register lists their domains under other companies, with expiry dates already past. It does not prove anything is wrong, but it is a reason for caution.
- Which casinos passed the check?
Vave and Slotsgem (Latcas B.V., OGL/2024/1676/0905) and iWild Casino (Goodwin N.V., OGL/2024/758/0228) on the Curaçao register; VegasNova (Veganova Ltd, ALSI-202502018-FI1) on the Anjouan register.
