A CAD casino keeps your balance in Canadian dollars, so an Interac deposit arrives as it left your bank and a withdrawal returns the same way. At a casino that runs your account in euros or US dollars, the same deposit is converted twice on every round trip, and the cost sits in an exchange rate rather than a fee line.

What a conversion costs
Our arithmetic for a CA$500 deposit at a casino that runs in euros, if your payment route marks up the exchange rate by 2.5% each way: about CA$12.50 on the way in, and about 2.5% of the withdrawal on the way out. If you withdraw the same CA$500, the round trip costs about CA$25 before you have placed a bet. Your actual mark-up depends on your bank or wallet.
The e-wallets publish theirs:
| Wallet | FX fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Skrill | 3.99% (Canadian fee page); the general page says 4.49% | skrill.com fee pages |
| Neteller | 4.49% (VIP levels lower) | neteller.com fees |
| MiFinity | up to 2.99%, up to 3.99% for exotic pairs | mifinity.com fees |
| Neosurf | 2% when paying in a different currency | Neosurf terms |
Hellspin's own terms say the casino charges no conversion fee (T&C 3, 15). That is true and incomplete: the conversion still happens, at your bank's or wallet's rate.
Where the conversion happens
- Interac e-Transfer into a EUR or USD account: the processor or casino converts. The rate is rarely shown before you confirm.
- Card deposit into a foreign-currency account: your card issuer converts and may add a foreign-transaction fee.
- E-wallet in CAD paying a EUR casino: the wallet converts at its published FX fee.
- Crypto: you convert when you buy the coin and again when you sell it, at the exchange's spread and fees, plus price movement while you hold it.
Open the cashier and send your first Interac e-Transfer.
Bonus amounts in different currencies
Currency also changes what a bonus is worth. Slotsgem's welcome caps are CA$1,200, CA$1,200, CA$2,100 and CA$3,500 in its Canadian settings, against 600, 300, 350 and 200 in euros. Bet caps work the other way: a 5 EUR maximum bet while wagering, as at Hellspin and in the Terdersoft strings, is roughly CA$7 or more, depending on the rate.
Our recommendation
If you deposit by Interac and want to withdraw by Interac, choose a casino that holds CAD: Slotsgem or VegasNova on our list. If you prefer Hellspin's payout terms, accept the conversion and keep your deposits and withdrawals to as few round trips as possible.
More on the bank side: Interac limits and fees. The cashier comparison is on our Interac casino Canada page.
Questions and answers
- Which online casinos use Canadian dollars?
Of the casinos we read, Slotsgem sets CAD as the default currency for Canada and VegasNova has CAD as a configured balance currency. The Terdersoft casinos print all Canadian amounts in CA$, but their account-currency list was not visible to us. Hellspin offers EUR and USD only; Vave is crypto only.
- Does it matter if my casino account is in euros?
Yes. Your deposit is converted from CAD and your withdrawal back to CAD, usually by your bank or payment provider at a marked-up rate. Two conversions on every round trip can cost several per cent.
- Do casinos charge conversion fees?
Hellspin's terms say it charges no conversion fee (T&C 3, 15), but your bank or e-wallet still converts at its own rate. E-wallets publish their FX fees: Skrill 3.99% on its Canadian fee page, Neteller 4.49%, MiFinity up to 2.99%.
