Online craps: one of the best bets and some of the worst, on one table

A craps table looks complicated because it offers dozens of bets. Only a handful are worth making, and they are among the cheapest in the casino. The rest, mostly in the middle of the table, cost ten times as much. Here is the map.

Online craps is a dice game where everyone bets on the same roll, and most of the table is optional. Two bets, the pass line and don't pass, plus the free odds behind them, give you one of the lowest house edges in any casino. The bets that make the table look exciting are the ones to leave alone. The edges below are the standard results for each bet.

Why the odds bet matters

The odds bet is the only bet in a casino with no house edge. Placed behind a pass line bet once a point is set, it pays the true odds of the point being rolled before a 7. Our arithmetic: CA$10 on the pass line with CA$20 in odds puts CA$30 at risk with an expected cost of about CA$0.14 per decision, an effective edge under half a percent on the total.

How much odds you may take is set by the table, often as a multiple of the pass line bet. The info panel shows it.

Finding craps online

Craps is less common online than roulette or blackjack. Live dice games and RNG craps appear in some lobbies; search for "craps" in the lobby of the casino you use. The lobby counts we took on 9 October 2026 do not split craps out at Hellspin, Slotsgem or iWild, so we cannot tell you how many tables each has.

Craps and bonuses

Hellspin counts table and live games at 0% towards wagering (bonus terms 2a), and most casinos treat craps the same way. Play with your own money; it also means no bet cap on your odds bets.

Our take

Pass line or don't pass, maximum odds you can afford, nothing in the middle of the table. Other low-edge games: blackjack and baccarat; the full cost table is on RTP and house edge. The main ranking is at Interac casino Canada.

Questions and answers

What is the best bet in craps?

Pass line or don't pass, backed with free odds. The pass line has a house edge of about 1.41% and don't pass about 1.36%; the odds bet behind them pays true odds and has no house edge at all.

Which craps bets should I avoid?

The proposition bets in the centre of the table: any 7 carries about 16.67%, and the single-number and horn bets 11% to 14%. They pay big and cost a lot.

Does craps count towards a casino bonus?

Usually not. Table games count 0% towards wagering at Hellspin (bonus terms 2a), which is common. Play craps with your own money.
